As I searched on the Net for information related to Pan-Asians, I came across an article published a few months ago on the current Sultan of Johor, where it reported that his mother is a British citizen. It is the first time that I could see her in pictures wearing a white scarf and with a nice Malay dress (baju kurung). JOHOR BAHRU: The mother of the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar paid her last respects to the late Sultan Iskandar yesterday afternoon.

Hajjah Khalsom Abdullah (pic), 72, spent time at the Bukit Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum accompanied by members of the royal family.

She arrived there at 2.20pm accompanied by her grandson, Tunku Abdul Jalil, as well as army escorts. Also present was Tunku Abdul Jalil’s cousin, Tengku Shakirinal Shah.

Dressed in a white baju kurung and white scarf, Hajjah Khalsom, who is a Briton, appeared calm during the 10 minutes she spent by the grave of the late Sultan.

With the help of her grandsons, Hajjah Khalsom poured rose water on Sultan Iskandar’s tomb.

Sultan Ibrahim’s uncle, Tunku Osman Tunku Temenggong Ahmad, State mufti Datuk Tahrir Shamsuddin, State deputy chief imam Datuk Mahat Mohd Said and deputy State Religious Department director Rahimah Kemat were also present.

Hajjah Khalsom arrived in Kuala Lumpur from London on Monday night and will spend a few days in the country.

Datuk Nasir sekarang ini menjadi Pegawai Khas kepada Perdana Menteri dan berpejabat di Tingkat 1 Blok Timur, Pejabat Perdana Menteri, Putrajaya.(No talipon 019 3856471). Datuk Nasir Safar Will Tender Resignation
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 2 (Bernama) — Special Officer to the Prime Minister, Datuk Nasir Safar will tender his resignation from the post following racist remarks he allegedly made at a 1Malaysia seminar in Melaka Tuesday.

The Prime Minister’s office in a statement issued here Tuesday night said the remarks allegedly made by Nasir “does not in any way reflect the views of the Prime Minister.”

“Datuk Nasir never intended to make any derogatory remarks. He spoke at length on the contributions made by all races in developing the country.

“Nevertheless, Nasir apologises for any offence caused.

“In light of this, Datuk Nasir will tender his resignation,” the three-paragraph statement said.
